Are you looking for ideas for your child’s second birthday party? For an easy to create event that delights your toddler’s senses, try building it around a theme. Here are nine fun themes to help you plan your little one’s celebration.

1. Bubbles – Decorate with clear helium balloons, placemats made of bubble wrap, and start up the bubble machine. You can buy an inexpensive battery operated one or splurge and rent the commercial kind. Every child responds to blowing, breaking, chasing and watching bubbles. Small wading pools with rubber duckies are optional.

2. Sports – Of course, your two year old is not actually rooting for his favorite team. But if he likes being around Dad when he watches the game, then this birthday theme might be the one to capture his enthusiasm. In fact, Dad might be interested in helping with ideas and even offer his sports equipment, baseball cards and team jerseys for decorating.

3. Princess – or Prince – Yes, your little one is definitely destined for royalty and easily rules your heart. Celebrate that fact with this theme. You can keep it simple with paper crowns or go all out with fake jewel tiaras, dressing up like monarchy and building a play castle out of boxes for the event.

4. Construction – If your 2 year old likes to dig or gets excited when he sees a dump truck, bulldozer or back hoe, then this party will make him happy. Arrange to have a pile of dirt or sand deposited in your yard or driveway. But be sure to warn the parents to dress their kids in old clothes. Add orange cones from the home improvement store, toy construction trucks, shovels and pails and you’re in business.

5. Teddy Bears – If someone “beary” special is turning two, then this is a good choice. You can have a teddy bear tea, picnic or parade. Have each guest bring a stuffed animal friend. Every child’s bear can win a prize: one for the fuzziest, another for the cutest, most cuddly, biggest or smallest. Don’t forget to serve the Teddy Grahams.

6. Under the Sea – Make a wall of blue balloons to resemble water. Add fishing nets and inflatable fish to decorate. Offer gold fish crackers as a snack. This party can also be tied into Sponge Bob, The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo or Shark Tale.

7. Planes, Trains and Automobiles – Maybe your child responds with exhilaration whenever he sees an airplane overhead or a train zipping by. It might be fire trucks or racing cars that capture his attention. So if you notice that he likes these things, you can build the whole birthday party around the vehicles of his choice.

8. Animals – If your child goes crazy when he or she sees a fuzzy critter, then this is a great theme party idea. You could feature one animal, such as cats, dogs or monkeys. Another choice would be to make it about a whole category of animals, like those from the farm or the jungle. Take the group of kids to a petting zoo or farm. Or you can have it at home with face painting and dressing up the kids to look like their favorite critter.

9. Dinosaurs – This is a favorite of kids of all ages. Decorate with green crepe or craft paper streamers, hung in various lengths to look like you’re in the jungle. Add construction paper dinosaur prints all over the house. Use dinosaur toys or cut out pictures to complete the look. You could even provide a sandbox dig for dinosaur bones or eggs for all the budding paleontologists.

Simply pay attention to what your toddler reacts to with enthusiasm. If you choose a theme that features something your little one really likes, then he’s sure to have a wonderful time at his second birthday party. Though he may not quite remember the celebration, you will take tons of photos, which will serve as a lasting reminder of your love. And isn’t that what the fuss is all about?

Linda Kling, as the owner of www.photo-party-favors.com, has offered ideas to people planning birthday parties since 1992. She recommends these kids personalized photo birthday magnets and photo favor tins.

The best part about call center work is that once you get a hang of it, you can make things simpler. When you start off as a green horn, you have certain ideas about BPO processes and what you need to be a successful agent in this sector. With time, you realize that whatever you have learnt at the training sessions only prepared you to hit the call center services floor. There are so many things about BPO service that you pick up on the job. This dynamic nature of the work puts an added focus on the planners to make use of innovative thinking and cut out the unproductive pockets. You can do a much better job in business process outsourcing if you make your own strategies and project flowcharts. No two telemarketing project is the same and you need a plan that is tailor-made for your needs.

Let’s talk about telemarketing first. This is the most important part of the call center processes primarily because of the share it contributes to the gross earnings. Making telemarketing services simpler is not tough. For example, if you are selling tech support services for computers, it makes more sense to call working women than housewives. By this very basic differentiation, you can cut out a large part of your database that would have been ineffective in this case. This example is, of course, on a skeletal level. If the call center services unit is careful about interpreting the data they have on hand and also set their target demographics on a priority basis, they can save resources on behalf of the BPO firm.

We move to lead generation now. Here, too, a study of the data available can streamline the process of sales lead generation to a great degree. If your project is a B2B one, get your call center agents to rely more on emails and online marketing than making calls. Emails are the best way to generate B2B leads. Business heads and entrepreneurs are comfortable with the idea of responding to emails. It makes sense on the part of the BPO unit as well to explain the telemarketing services in a written account and email that across. It leaves little to chance and looks professional. If you are providing B2B call center services, what better way to show your professional side than being so in your own approach?

In case of answering service, the streamlining process is more to do with the number of inbound call center agents you have on the team. If you expect a high call volume, better get more agents to take those calls. This will ensure that not many calls go missing. Missed calls reflect badly on the brand value of the client you are providing BPO service to. The inverse is true as well. If you hire too few agents, the hold time on the calls will frustrate people who are either subscribers of the client’s business or curious about it. You can get a good number of leads with proper phone answering service facilities. The best part about call center work is that once you get a hang of it, you can make things simpler.

By: Anthony McBride

Stress is one of the biggest problems in our society today. Many of the issues that people have with their health, performance at work, and life in general can be linked to stress. It can also be linked to how they respond to the various types of stress in their lives. It is important to note that there are many different types of stress just as there are many different ways to meditate and obtain the benefits that meditation has to offer. There are both good and bad forms of stress. The good type of stress is the type that triggers motivation and productivity. It is the type of stress that is primarily the pressure to succeed provided that that pressure does not become overwhelming to the point of obsession. This type of stress can be considered positive. Negative stress is the type that ends up translating into worry and anxiety as well as the feelings of helpless and hopelessness. This type of stress does nothing for the body and can have negative implications to the health of both the mind and the body. Meditation offers the opportunity to eliminate negative forms of stress or turn them into positive influences. The mind is a powerful tool and is incredibly versatile. As a result, of this versatility meditation can help you to change the way you view stress, respond to stress and use stress in your life. Generally, individuals respond to stress negatively when there is a conflict or past issue, which the stress triggers. This could be a time when work was viewed negatively and there was a direct effect on productivity for example. Meditation allows you to view thoughts in a singular fashion and can help you to analyze and take notice of small things, which you may not be consciously aware of that are causing you to respond in a particular fashion. By resolving these issues, or altering the way you think about them, something that is easy to do when you are in the quiet calm created through the meditative state, you can change how you handle the stress in your life. This may sound difficult to do but it is remarkably easy once you learn the process and become familiar and comfortable with it. It is a good idea to start with using meditation as a relaxation technique. This gets your body and mind used to reaching the calm meditative state necessary to ensure your success. You may want to experiment with various techniques to find the one that works best for you. Guided meditation techniques work well for individual who are just beginning to look into meditation and its benefits. These techniques are designed to walk you through every step of the process. This can help to eliminate any worries or anxieties that you may have about getting started. Once you become experienced in meditation you can easily reach the calm meditative state with just a few breaths and change how you are responding to the stress created from both internal and external sources.

By: Scott Rodriguez

You’re feeling it, the dread of returning to the office after a nice long weekend. Back to the stress of the workplace, the boss, the co-workers. Surely theres some sort of relief from all of this (short of a two-week vacation to Bermuda!) These days, some offices are allowing everything from on-site child-care, in-house pharmacies to naps. Now, guess whats becoming commonplace – chair massage. It is a relative low-cost way to help get through the day, and is far less expensive than other employee benefits.

Massage is the manipulation of superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue. This is done to enhance function and promote relaxation and well-being. If you are looking to modern medicine to cure your issues, maybe you are looking in the wrong place. The art of massage dates way back, back to over 3000 years. It has been documented by the ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians. They all applied forms of massage for many ailments. Hippocrates even wrote papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems. Are you interested in finding how this art of massage is practiced? Many, many, many methods, over 250 to be precise, are used. Some of these are tapping, kneading, vibration, rocking, applying pressure to muscles, stroking and compression!

The art of massage became popular in the US in the 1800s. It had a surge of popularity until the 1930s and 40s. When modern medicine came to the forefront, the art of massage therapy became discounted as lesser than. Suddenly, it became popular again in the 1960s and 1970s when nurses began to use it to relieve pain in patients. It again gained credibility when, in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta it was used as core medical service. Are you convinced? Do you want whats good enough for an Olympian?

There are therapists who will come to a company, either to help employees relax, or a reward for employee performance. They will come at any time, morning or evening, weekday or weekend. There are many benefits to both the employee and business. Some of the benefits include, but are not limited to, boosting the immune system, which leads to fewer absences, a decrease in stress, it improves circulation, as well as relieving that muscle pain that can come from poring over a computer all day. It can relieve headaches, lower blood pressure and improve thinking skills. Yes, these are all scientifically proven advantages!

What do you think contributes to most office-related physical symptoms? Believe it or not, they can be attributed to loss of circulation. The muscles tighten up as a result of sitting behind a desk all day, especially at a work station that is not ergonomically designed, this, and stress can impede blood and lymph flow through the body. The result is a decrease in energy, the inability to think clearly, along with susceptibility to repetitive stress injuries, like carpal tunnel syndrome. Not only does chair massage benefit employee, but it can also benefit employer. If an employee is pain free and relaxed the productivity of the individual increases, his/her stress level is lowered. The result is fewer absentees and a decrease in workers compensation. If your office workers are happy, they will be more productive workers! If your office doesn’t offer this, maybe you can find a local massage salon that provides this service. I know its something I could definitely use. Surely being home raising 3 girls merits some relief
